There is a bleed screw on the filter for when you change it so would be best to do it that way (but you will need a pipe going to a jug don't just open it (see my post on oil change)). but it will bleed itself as it has a very good lift pump in the tank. been there done that.Add to quote. Only show this user. #10 · Jul 11, 2016. I had the mixing chamber and everything off of mine when I changed the water pump so it was pretty easy. Remember to not go by the Jeep repair manual as it states 18 ft lbs for torque, it should really be around 8-11 NM for all the water pump bolts. Save Share. Could not find alot of info on the 3l diesel except a full coolant capacity was over 10 litres and that it uses OAT coolant and that emptying coolant via the radiator tap at the bottom gets only about 5 litres out.
Replace the o-ring and set properly into groove at top of filter cap, tighten cap until seated flush with oil filter housing. Another area of possible leaks, and likely fairly common is the oil filter housing to engine black gasket. This gasket is exposed to a lot of heat and will shrink.
